Darryl Isherwood Joins Mercury

Westfield, New Jersey – Mercury, a leading national, bipartisan public strategy firm announces the addition of Darryl Isherwood, most recently the senior political reporter for the Star-Ledger, the largest daily newspaper in New Jersey, and NJ.com, the state’s largest and most-read news-and-information website. Isherwood will join Mercury as a Vice President.

Darryl Isherwood, an award-winning journalist, served as senior political reporter for the Star-Ledger and NJ.com, covering New Jersey’s political news, with a focus on campaign finance and state government. Prior to the Star-Ledger and NJ.com, Isherwood was the editor of PolitickerNJ.com, one of the leading political and government news sites in the Garden State. Under Isherwood’s leadership, PolitickerNJ became one of the most influential sources of news for key decision makers across the state.

Isherwood began his career working on Wall Street where he spent more than a decade working as a broker, trader and auditor for some of the largest financial services firms in the country. He spent 6 years at Prudential Securities where he served as Vice President in charge of the compliance audit department.

Isherwood made the transition to journalism 13 years ago, first reporting for The Times of Trenton, covering local and state politics for five years, and then at the Morning Call, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Later, he worked as a senior reporter for Fox Business News, where he covered real estate, financial reform and the intersection of money and politics. Isherwood currently resides in Hunterdon County with his wife and son.

Isherwood will join Mercury’s New Jersey office, and be part of the firm’s national strategic media team which includes a former chief White House correspondent for The Associated Press, political producers from ABC News, Fox News and CNN, and senior strategists who directed media operations for presidential, gubernatorial and congressional campaigns of both major parties.
