Bob Ward is a Senior Counselor at Mercury, specializing in opinion research to shape communication and public affairs strategy. Ward is a 25+ year practitioner of opinion research, spending much of his career helping clients improve their corporate image, reputation and issues management.

A veteran political pollster, Ward applies the lessons of the campaign trail to his approach in assisting corporations and organizations facing issues. He has extensive experience in using research for message development and planning effective communications strategy. His corporate clients include such notable brands as Visa, Anheuser Busch, Lumber Liquidators and eBay.

He has experience providing research and counsel to trade and advocacy groups in the health care, automotive, and media industries, among others. He has helped companies deal with a wide range of issues such as antitrust, consumer privacy, corporate social responsibility, and product liability.

He is a founding partner at Fabrizio Ward, an opinion research consulting firm. Ward previously headed the Washington, DC office of GfK, leading its Roper Public Affairs Issues Management research group. He has worked for the polling firm Public Opinion Strategies and was a senior vice president at Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates.

Ward directed opinion research for Bob Dole’s presidential campaign. Ward served as pollster to former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty’s election and re-election campaigns. He was Strategic Information Director at the Republican National Committee.

Ward has conducted political and public affairs research across the globe in both the developed and developing worlds including Canada, Europe, Central and South America, Asia and Australia. In 2014 he provided polling and strategy for the Ukrainian presidential and down-ballot campaigns.

Ward holds a B.A. from American University’s School of Public Affairs. He and his family live in Washington, D.C.
