Mark Baker serves as Of Counsel to Mercury.

Mark is managing partner in his Montana law firm, Anderson, Baker & Swanson, PLLC, where he serves a variety of business clients with legal, legislative, regulatory and administrative interests at the state and federal level.

He previously served as Of Counsel for Denny Miller Associates for 15 years, focusing on telecom, defense, health care and natural resources issues.

Mark spent several years on Capitol Hill, serving as Legislative Director and Counsel to US Senator Conrad Burns (R-MT) and Chief of Staff to US Congressman Rick Hill (R-MT).  Mark was Governor Romney’s Montana State Finance Chairman and also served on the Romney for President National Finance Committee in 2008 and 2012. In 2012, Mark was honored to preside as Chair of the Montana Delegation to the Republican National Convention.

He is currently on the National Finance Committee for the National Republican Congressional Committee, is a member of the Board of Advisors for GCS Holdings, Inc., and serves on the Board of Directors for the Montana Taxpayers Association and Treasure State Resource Industry Association.

Mark resides in Helena, Montana with his wife, Jennifer, and their youngest daughter, Jaci.  They have three other grown children:  Danielle Vert, Sarah Page, and Gary Vert.
