Scott Pollenz is a Senior Associate at Mercury Florida, where he specializes in developing innovative digital marketing and advocacy campaigns across a variety of platforms for clients.

Most recently, Scott served as Social and Digital Media Director for the grassroots, citizen-led All For Transportation campaign in Hillsborough County, Florida. All For Transportation’s referendum aimed to increase the county’s sales tax by 1% and use the subsequent revenue for funding road improvements, expanding transit options and independent oversight. In a stunning display, All For Transportation’s plan passed with 57% of the vote.

Following his work with All For Transportation, Scott remained in the Tampa Bay area, where he worked on various local races, including Jane Castor’s historic win for Mayor of Tampa. Castor won the runoff in a landslide to become the first LGBTQ woman to lead a city in the Southeastern United States.

Prior to his jump into politics, Scott worked as a Digital Marketing Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Times. During his tenure at the Times, Scott focused on digital engagement and brand growth. Over a two-year period, Scott increased link referrals from the Times’ various social media accounts by 125%. He took a leadership role working across the advertising, news and marketing departments to develop and monetize a variety of digital products, including email newsletters, social media campaigns and sponsored content. At the Times, Scott joined PolitiFact’s Business Development team, where he worked on social media campaigns to grow its membership projects.

Scott received a B.S. in psychology and a B.A. in history from Florida State University, and has lived the majority of his life in Florida.
