Shannan Siemens is a Managing Director in Mercury’s New York City office. She specializes in strategic communications, media relations and messaging, with a particular expertise in financial news, IPO trends and the inner workings of Wall Street.

Shannan spent 15 years as a journalist at some of the most-respected news outlets in the world. With a deep knowledge of what appeals to members of the media, she is exceptionally adept at creating storylines that draw the interest of the most influential news outlets and target audiences.

Prior to joining Mercury, Shannan served for seven years as a senior producer at CNBC on some of the network’s top-rated shows, including Squawk on the Street, Squawk Alley, Halftime Report and Closing Bell. There she shaped coverage under intense deadlines, working closely with reporters and anchors, as well as Fortune 500 executives and Wall Street experts. At CNBC, she covered the world’s most influential companies, as well as numerous start-ups.

Shannan also helped spearhead the network’s IPO coverage. She has covered hundreds of IPOs during her career including Uber, Lyft, Pinterest, Slack, Spotify, Levi Strauss, Luckin Coffee, CloudFlare, CrowdStrike, Jumia, Dropbox, Smile DirectClub, Zoom Video and 10X Genomics.

Before CNBC, Shannan was a producer at the Fox Business Network, where she helped lead the organization’s coverage of the global financial crisis. She began her journalism career at CBS College Sports, interviewing legendary coaches and players and telling some of the most compelling sports stories on television.

A graduate of The University of Mississippi, Shannan holds a B.A. in broadcast journalism. She is a native of Kentucky and lives in New York.
