Jan Feuerstadt is a Partner in Mercury’s New York office, where she leads the State and City Government Relations practice. Jan, a 15-year veteran of New York public affairs at the highest levels of policy and politics, focuses on lobbying and government relations, legislative affairs, and procurement, to political consulting and strategic communications. Clients range from New York’s most prominent financial services and fintech companies to major health care, energy, environmental, hospitality, real estate, labor companies and organizations, and diverse issue-driven coalitions.

Prior to joining the Mercury team, Jan developed and managed the multi-entity firm CGK Partners, providing clients with policy position development, structuring and implementation of campaign strategies, navigating the legislative process, and political consulting strategic services.

Jan also served in the federal government between the years 2000 and 2006 in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In President Clinton’s administration she was the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for HUD in the New York and New Jersey Region, reporting directly to the Regional Director and the HUD Secretary.

In the Bush administration she served as a Senior Community Planning and Development Specialist for HUD, overseeing grant allocations to New York State, the City of Yonkers, and Rockland County. In this capacity, Jan administered a portfolio of grant funding in excess of $110 million dollars annually.

A graduate of UMASS Amherst, Jan continues to support her campus community as a member of the Alumni Board and the UMASS Women into Leadership Board.
