Los Angeles, Calif., Jan. 16, 2014 — Mercury announces three nationally recognized digital experts to its team –who is most well-known as the California Digital Director for Obama for America; who led the digital practice at LEVICK in Washington D.C; and, who led the digital media strategy and crisis management at Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). They will join who previously managed Virgin America’s nationally recognized digital communications and who previously was the head of social media for Shopbop.com.

Together, Hickin, Vadlamani and Parmley bring over three decades of experience and will provide clients with national and cross-cutting support in issue management, crisis communications and creative marketing in the digital space.
Vance Hickin will be Senior Vice President at Mercury’s Los Angeles office. He was previously Principal at Highway One Consulting and former California Digital Director for Obama for America 2012. Hickin provided high-impact digital programs for clients such as Common Cause, Next Generation, California Forward, First 5 LA, Sony Connect, and the Campaign for Mental Health (California Proposition 63, 2004). His expertise spans digital strategy, platform design, content marketing and social media.
Vicky Vadlamani will be Vice President at Mercury’s Washington D.C. office. She previously managed the digital practice at LEVICK where she developed microsites, social media communities and grassroots initiatives for Fortune 500 companies.
Paul Parmley will be Director at Mercury’s Sacramento office. He previously led social media strategy, community management and digital crisis communications for PG&E. Parmley led day-to-day management of PG&E’s award-winning social media programs and provided strategic counsel and crisis management.
