A longtime spokesman for former Republican Gov. George Pataki, Mr. McKeon is a media consultant and partner with Mercury, a high-powered lobbying and consulting firm. When Mr. Cuomo was elected governor four years ago, he turned to Mr. McKeon to help him reach out to Republicans.
