Ana-Sofia Lahovary is an Associate at Mercury’s Washington, D.C. office, where she supports the government relations and public affairs teams. Before joining Mercury full-time, she interned with the firm from January to April 2025. She previously served as a Congressional Intern in Representative Sharice Davids’ (KS-03) D.C. office and interned for the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.
Passionate about local politics with a global impact, Ana-Sofia brings her Canadian-Colombian background into her advocacy and leadership roles. She served as Student Advisory Board President at the bipartisan Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics, where she and led events with local leaders to engage students in civic participation. As a Kansas Democratic Party Campus Organizer, she helped lead KU campus outreach through the form of a voter registration program.
Ana-Sofia graduated from the University of Kansas in December 2024 with a bachelor's degree in political science, alongside minors in international studies, public policy, and Russian and eastern European studies. She was an active member of the honors program and student government. Ana-Sofia is from Kansas City but now resides in the DMV area.
