Steve has designed and launched campaigns across the country to tackle difficult issues like permitting, clearing legislative and regulatory hurdles, crisis management, and marshaling support from key stakeholders in local communities.

Steve is a Partner with Mercury, based in Sacramento, California.
Steve has worked with executives in many of the country’s largest corporations for several decades, in both in-house roles and with public affairs consultancies, bringing a business focus to the political arena. His background in oil and gas, and infrastructure development has translated into successful policy campaigns across a broad spectrum of traditional and clean energy companies, global consumer brand leaders, industry associations and disaster recovery efforts.
Prior to re-joining Mercury, Steve spent a dozen years in both global and boutique public affairs consultancies, after fourteen years at Chevron and Enron, in senior policy and political roles. Steve’s early career roles included international policy organizations across the Asia-Pacific region, and as a lobbyist and staff on Capitol Hill.
Steve earned his MPA from the George Washington University, and has a Bachelor degree from the College of William and Mary. Steve lives in Sacramento, California.
