Malik Wright is a bold, authentic political and policy strategist, successfully using over a decade of experience to amplify and empower high-impact voices towards success. Named a rising star of New York politics and government by City & State magazine, Malik has blended his passion for public service, political strategy, legislative affairs, and creative brand-building to influence leaders and organizations at both the state and local level.

Prior to joining Mercury, Malik served as Chief of Staff to Bronx Assembly Member Kenny Burgos, a top policy advisor to then-Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, and Legislative Director to then-Brooklyn Council Member Jumaane Williams. Before that, he served in operations and strategy roles for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and New York State Attorney General.

In addition to his government roles, Malik is an active civic leader and next-generation political influencer featured in PAPER, City & State, Wall Street Journal, Observer, Yahoo! News, and other publications. He served as Political Director for the Manhattan Democratic Party, as President of the Manhattan Young Democrats, a New York County Democratic Committee Member, and co-host of the critically-acclaimed political podcast, House Party. A graduate of top liberal arts college, Colgate University, Malik has advised leading political campaigns for New York State Lieutenant Governor, State Senate, Assembly, New York City Public Advocate, and City Council.
