JAKE POSEY JOINS MERCURY PUBLIC AFFAIRS AS PARTNER IN TEXAS

Addition marks the national public affairs leader’s continued expansion and growth in Texas

AUSTIN, TX (January 8, 2025) – Leading national bipartisan public strategy firm Mercury Public Affairs (Mercury), today announced the hiring of public affairs experts Jake Posey and Lorena Robledo. The addition of Posey and Robledo marks the company’s continued growth in Texas.

Jake Posey joins Mercury as a Partner, bringing two decades of expertise at the intersection of politics, business, and the law, working with clients across a host of sectors to navigate public policy. He has spearheaded countless legislative initiatives, and his work has had statewide and national reach, securing wins for clients, including Fortune 500 corporations, Texas’ leading state associations, and major non- profits. Posey also served as legal counsel and clerk to a Texas House Committee and Chief of Staff to a longstanding member of the Texas Legislature.

“I am thrilled to join the Mercury team and excited for all that’s ahead in 2025 and beyond, said Posey. “As part of the firm, we look forward to every opportunity to expand the reach of our best-in-class expertise and drive success and impact for our clients.

“The bar for partnership is high and demonstrates the top level of expertise and performance in business and politics – the intersection of where Mercury sits,” said Kieran Mahoney, CEO. “Jake’s joining and Lorena coming on board continue our expansion in Texas, which is something we are going to prioritize further in 2025. We look forward to having them here and all that they will achieve.”

Lorena Robledo is joining Mercury as a Vice President with an extensive background in government relations and public affairs. With experience spanning the Texas Attorney General’s Office, Texas State Senate, and the City of San Antonio, Robledo will guide clients in meeting their legislative and policy priorities. Her past work has included environmental regulation, transportation and infrastructure initiatives, public finance, and financial litigation.
“Mercury Texas is thrilled to welcome Jake and Lorena to our team of top strategists,” said Jay Propes, Mercury Partner. “They have a proven record of delivering results for the clients, and I’m proud to know them as colleagues and friends. I look forward to our work together and seeing all we will accomplish on behalf of Mercury’s host of clients.”

The Austin office announcement is the most recent in Mercury’s continued expansion and growth. Earlier this month, the firm announced a merger in Chicago with leading communications firm Serafin & Associates, following significant hires across the company’s numerous geographies throughout the year.
