Emily Ekman is a Vice President in Mercury’s New York office.

Emily Ekman serves as Vice President in Mercury’s New York office. She has had a multifaceted career, having worked in corporate development and in government affairs, and with the United Nations.

Prior to joining Mercury, Emily served as Chief of Staff to the CEO of Tribeca Enterprises and worked on the NY Forward Task Force for Reopening Broadway & Performing Arts. Prior to those positions, Emily worked at MacAndrews & Forbes as a Government Affairs Liaison, as Director of Development for a biotechnology company and was Deputy Director of Governor’s Offices during the Cuomo Administration.

Emily began her career with the United Nations, spending nearly eight years in a variety of positions including Senior Aide in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and Field Support where she supported the Office of Military Affairs, receiving a letter of commendation. In 2013, she was appointed as Aide to the New York Director of the UN Joint Mission on the Elimination of Syrian Chemical Weapons program. Emily also went on secondment from the UN in New York as Aide to the Force Commander for the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Mali, where she was the only female in the Force Commander’s military administration.

Emily has a B.A. in Political Science and Government from New York University, and a M.A. in International Relations and Affairs with a focus on Conflict and Security from the New School, where she was a Merit Scholar.
