Jennifer Wlach is a Partner in Mercury’s San Francisco office, specializing in media strategy and public affairs campaign management. With more than a decade of experience in journalism, Jennifer offers counsel on media relations, public affairs, public relations and crisis communications for clients across a host of issue areas.
In her years with Mercury, Jennifer has worked with leading trade associations, start-ups, major businesses and organizations on national, state and local-level campaigns. To date, Jennifer’s tenure has afforded her the opportunity to work across a diverse set of policy issues, including: healthcare, technology, cyber security, foreign policy, education, and campaign & elections.
Jen has helped oversee the launch of two initial public offerings (IPO) with NASDAQ, and has experience working with healthcare and biotech companies in pursuit of FDA and other key industry clearances. Working with a number of C-suite level executives, Jennifer has helped develop a number of successful thought leadership programs, establishing those individuals as key experts for their respective industries.
Prior to joining Mercury in 2013, Jennifer worked as a political producer in the Washington bureau of ABC News. During her tenure with the network, she served as the lead political booker for Good Morning America. Jen also made significant contributions to This Week with George Stephanopoulos during the 2012 Presidential Election, and supported network-wide political and news coverage for the broadcast and digital platforms.
Throughout her career, Jennifer has developed strong, bipartisan relationships working with a multitude of high-profile federal and state leaders, former heads of state and administrators. Jennifer has a versatile background in journalism, with experience in local, cable and network news. At HDNet, she worked as a producer for the channel’s flagship news magazine program, World Report. In that role, Jen developed in-depth stories on a host of domestic and international issues. Jennifer got her start in television as an assignment editor and field producer at WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, NC.
Jennifer holds a B.A. from Duke University, where she studied Public Policy and Political Science. A New York native hailing from Commack, NY, Jen currently resides in San Francisco.
