Kim Devlin is a managing director in Mercury’s New York City office. As a veteran electoral, non-profit, and communications strategist, advisor, and consultant, Kim translates her two-decade track record as one of the country’s leading campaign professionals into real-world, tangible advocacy, media strategies, public affairs, crisis communications, and project management for political, labor, business, and non-profit clients.

Kim has served as campaign manager, strategist, communications, press advisor, and spokesperson for numerous candidates, coordinated campaigns, and political committees in New York, Texas, Kansas, and Hawaii, as well as a number of other states in every region of the US. She has also worked internationally, helping to defeat an authoritarian government in power for over a decade and replacing it with a pro-democracy government committed to transparency, rooting out corruption, and building positive relationships with the West.

Kim has been a longtime advisor to Congressman Tom Suozzi (NY-03) and serves as his general consultant and lead strategist. She led the successful elections of Nassau County (Long Island, NY) Comptroller Jack Schnirman and Laura Gillen’s historic victory as Supervisor of the largest town in America, the Town of Hempstead on Long Island. Gillen was the first Democrat Supervisor in Hempstead in more than 100 years.

Kim has served as senior strategist and lead consultant to a labor-management trade organization on the West coast. She helped lead their successful multimillion-dollar independent expenditure campaigns for governor, mayor, and other elected offices and advised the organization on their well-funded advocacy campaigns for major projects impacting their members. She also executed the independent expenditure campaign for a police union in New York.

Kim has served as a senior advisor for strategy and communications to the Nassau County (NY) Legislature Democratic Caucus and for several years served as an advisor to the chairman of the New York State and Nassau County Democratic Committees and has been the lead consultant on many of their multimillion-dollar coordinated campaigns. Kim has been a senior strategist for communications and strategy at Media Matters for America, has served as senior advisor to the Hawaii state house and state senate caucuses for several cycles, was a consultant for a variety of statewide non-profit organizations with legislation before the Texas Legislature, and has worked extensively on numerous campaigns up and down the ballot in Texas.

In addition to having led and organized campaigns for members of congress, governors, state legislators, mayors, and county executives, Kim has deep experience in media relations and has worked extensively with the New York, Texas, Hawaii, Capitol Hill, and national press corps in both advocacy and political settings. She has also led countless debate prep and media training sessions.

Kim is from Texas and currently resides in New York.
