Kristin brings over ten years of experience in government relations, project management, business development, international relations, fundraising, and advocacy at the state and federal level. Prior to joining Mercury, Kristin served as vice chancellor of public policy and advocacy for the State University System of Florida. In her role, she served as the Board of Governor’s principal liaison with Florida’s legislative and executive branches, university leadership and key stakeholders in Florida. She was responsible for coordinating a system-wide advocacy strategy to support Florida’s 12 public universities, which enrolls over 400,000 students with a budget of $5.3 billion. She drafted and advocated on behalf of substantive policy changes to increase student access and safety on campuses.

Kristin got her start in politics by working on tourism, trade, and economic development issues under Governor Jeb Bush. She then worked in the K-12 sector and served as an adjunct professor at Tallahassee Community College. Kristin was recruited by the Secretary of the Department of Children and Families to plan and track comprehensive statewide projects and monitor legislative policy that impacted the agency and enhanced programs that support the most vulnerable Floridians.

In 2016, Kristin transitioned to the private sector where she worked for a prominent south Florida law firm where she advocated on behalf of a diverse group of clients on both the state and federal levels. She also handled strategic communications for multiple government relations clients, organized political fundraisers and community relations events.

Kristin earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs and economics, as well as a master’s degree in education, from Florida State University.

Kristin currently serves on Florida’s Education Foundation Board under Commissioner Manny Diaz and was recently appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on Florida’s Commission for Independent Education.
