Christian Flores is an Associate with Mercury Public Affairs. He has his Master’s in Global Policy Studies from the University of Texas in Austin. During his graduate studies, he served as a Policy Consultant with the Municipal Government of Marica in Brazil, evaluating the housing outcomes of a universal basic income program for people below the poverty line. Previously, he was a Program Administrator with Safer Foundation in Chicago, where his advocacy created a pathway for people with arrest and conviction records to acquire jobs in the financial sector in Chicago, easing FDIC regulations for minor offenses and encouraging the City of Chicago to offer more holistic reentry support services. As Program Administrator he helped the organization acquire a range of Federal, State, and private foundation grants. He has also served as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Brazil and an Operations Assistant for U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, Political Science, and Spanish from Illinois College, and a certificate in Human Rights Studies from IFSA-Butler University in Argentina.
