Jonathan Greenspun is a Managing Director and serves as Mercury’s key contact for New York City public affairs. His core expertise includes New York City government relations, strategic communications, crisis communication, media relations and community grassroots organizing.

 

He has worked with some of the city’s most prestigious corporations and served clients in a variety of industries such as real estate, technology, accounting, outdoor advertising, media, engineering, transportation, education, security and nonprofit.

Appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2014 to serve as a Commissioner on the New York City Human Rights Commission


Appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2001 to serve as Commissioner of the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit (CAU)


Executive Assistant to Governor George E. Pataki for seven years


Worked on Mike Bloomberg’s 2001 mayoral campaign, Rick Lazio’s 2000 senate campaign, Al D’Amato’s 1998 senate campaign; and Governor Pataki’s 1994 and 1998 gubernatorial campaigns


Serves on a number of boards including The New York City Chapter of the League of Conservation Voters, a member of the Executive Committee of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York


Past board member to the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, the Jewish National Fund and past President of his local Synagogue


Has appeared on CNN and many other New York City media outlets and is a regular panelist on the city’s political news program Inside City Hall

Jonathan Greenspun is a Managing Director and serves as Mercury’s key contact for New York City public affairs. His core expertise includes New York City government relations, strategic communications, crisis communication, media relations and community grassroots organizing.

He has worked with some of the city’s most prestigious corporations and served clients in a variety of industries such as real estate, technology, accounting, outdoor advertising, media, engineering, transportation, education, security and nonprofit.

Jonathan is known for the personal attention and dedication he gives to his clients. He successfully recouped tens of millions of dollars owed by New York City to one of the nation’s largest privately held security firms. For ten years, he represented a Fortune 100 technology corporation with $500MM in New York contracts.

Mr. Greenspun has extensive communications skills, has appeared on national cable networks as well as many other New York City media outlets. The New York Times featured one of his quotes as “Quote of the Day.” Since 2006, he has appeared as a regular panelist on the New York City public affairs program Inside City Hall.

Having been taught from a very early age on the importance of giving back to his community, Mr. Greenspun served on a number of prestigious boards including: Mayor Bill de Blasio’s appointee to the New York City Human Rights Commission and Mayor Bloomberg’s representative to the Board of The Museum of Jewish Heritage- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. He continues to serve on the New York City Chapter of the League of Conservation Voters; the Executive Committee of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York; and a proud member of the Metropolitan Executive Alliance, a business networking group.

Born in Brooklyn, Jonathan and his wife Rosesara currently reside in Riverdale with their three children.
