Karen Mustiga is a Senior Vice President in Mercury’s New York City office. She is a media relations strategist and writer with experience in public policy, financial communications and social advocacy.

At the NYC Mayor’s Office of Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises, Karen spearheaded content strategy, produced video content to showcase entrepreneur success stories, wrote speeches for senior officials and managed relationships with NYC agencies and community activists to grow stakeholder engagement.

Previously, Karen worked in financial communications, placing equity research analysts in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNBC and other outlets. Before that, she was a business correspondent reporting from the New York Stock Exchange for Spanish-language media, where she interviewed floor traders and economists on breaking news.

Karen began her career in NYC doing content creation for the Clinton Foundation, grassroots advocacy for StudentsFirstNY and freelance writing for philanthropist Francine LeFrak. A native Floridian, she was also a congressional intern for U.S. Senator Marco Rubio on Capitol Hill.

Karen holds an M.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a B.A. in economics and political science from the University of Florida.
