Nicholas Mammano is a Senior Vice President at Mercury’s Westfield, New Jersey office with over a decade of political and government experience. He is often sought out for his advice on legislative affairs and for his deep knowledge of Bergen County politics.

Before joining Mercury, Nick was Chief of Staff to State Senator Joseph Lagana from the beginning of then-Assemblyman Lagana’s first term in 2014. During that time, Nick managed a joint 38th District Office, which Senator Lagana shares with Assemblywoman Lisa Swain and Assemblyman Chris Tully.

Nick was entrusted with overseeing all of the Senator’s policy initiatives and worked with advocates, the Legislature, and the Governor’s office to help pass legislation to legalize and regulate rideshare business models, modernize tax credits for working families, curb the abuse of opioids, reform school bus safety, and reduce drunk driver recidivism.

Prior to being tapped as Lagana’s Chief, Nick was the Deputy Director of the Democratic Committee of Bergen County, where he helped the organization secure an upset victory for Commissioner when the top of the ticket lost the county by over 50,000 votes in 2013. Also charged with managing the party’s social media outreach, Nick led the Bergen Democrats to build the most-followed county organization social media accounts.

A veteran of multiple election cycles, Nick worked on U.S. Senator Bob Menendez’s successful reelection in 2012, and he has continued to advise numerous candidates and campaigns on the federal, state, and local levels.

Nick has developed strong relationships within State House circles in Trenton and has been recognized as one of the most influential millennials in New Jersey politics by InsiderNJ.

Nick attended Rutgers University where he studied economics and political science. He is a proud husband and father.
