see expertsHolt began his political career on Senator Richard Lugar’s (R-IN) press staff during his Chairmanship of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. After Republicans lost the Senate in 1986, Terry was part of several historic congressional victories, including the defeat of then-sitting House Speaker Thomas Foley (D-WA). Terry also served as a National Republican Congressional Committee regional field director and gubernatorial and U.S. Senate campaign manager.
Terry also has deep experience on Capitol Hill, where he served as the communications advisor for the House Republican Conference, The House Committee on the Budget, and in the House Majority Leader’s office, where he helped to navigate the events and aftermath of 9-11. Holt has also served as a senior advisor to the Republican National Committee.
In 1995-96 he served as communication director and New England field representative for Lugar, whose presidential campaign announcement took place on the same day as the Oklahoma City Bombing. In 2000, Holt served as communication director for Victory 2000, the GOP campaign to support then Governor George W. Bush. He returned in 2004, serving as national spokesperson for BC/04 and senior advisor to the Republican National Committee.
