Vice President
Stella Porter is a Vice President in Mercury’s New Jersey office. She specializes in media relations and crisis communications, bringing experience as a former EMMY-nominated journalist and government spokesperson to her role.
Stella joined Mercury following her time as Deputy Press Secretary and on-the-record spokesperson to former New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. In the Governor’s Office, Stella managed a rapid-response media strategy and served as the communications lead for environmental issues, energy, transportation, and state finance.
Stella began her career as a TV news reporter and anchor, and her reporting earned her three New York EMMY nominations. She most recently worked for the NBC affiliate in Albany, New York, after beginning her broadcast career covering the 2020 presidential election at a TV station in Wisconsin.
Stella earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and lives in New Jersey with her husband.
