Wesley Clayton is a Director in Mercury’s Albany office and brings both government and legal experience based on his Fellowship in the New York State Deputy Majority Leader’s office and his study of legal systems from around the globe.
Wesley Clayton is a Director in Mercury’s Albany office who brings both public policy and legal experience from his work in and adjacent to the New York State legislature and his study of foreign legal systems. During his Fellowship in the New York State Senate Deputy Majority Leader’s office, Wesley crafted legislation and analyzed the innerworkings of the New York State legislative process. Wesley assisted on many high-profile matters ranging from criminal justice reform to anti-trust reform. Additionally, as an Intern at Featherstonhaugh, Wiley & Clyne, LLP, Wesley learned effective lobbying strategies and dissected numerous policy approaches to data privacy.
Moreover, Wesley immersed himself in numerous public policy perspectives studying international and comparative law at William & Mary Law School and Political Science at the University of Rochester. Hence, Wesley can provide unique solutions to public policy questions from a wide range of cultures and traditions. Ultimately, he has both the broad-based substantive and procedural knowledge to help clients reach their goals.
