R.C. Hammond is a Managing Director in Mercury’s Washington, DC office. He is the designer of communication strategies that use compelling stories and cutting-edge tactics to engage stakeholders on Main Street, Wall Street, in foreign capitals and among top-level U.S. government officials. At Mercury, R.C. leads issue campaigns and provides strategic media relations and crisis communication counsel for leading companies, trade associations, and political advocacy groups that achieve positive policy outcomes and improve the environment in which organizations operate.

R.C. has been a spokesperson and senior advisor to the U.S. Secretary of State, Members of Congress and a presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. He graduated from The George Washington University with a BA in Political Communication.
