Adam Smith, who has more than 20 years of experience in Florida political journalism, most recently as political editor for the Tampa Bay Times, joins the powerful public affairs team at Mercury as a Senior Vice President.

Smith has over 20 years of experience in journalism, politics, and communications at the federal, state and local level. Smith most recently served as the award-winning political editor for the Tampa Bay Times, the largest paper in the Southeast, and was once named one of the top 10 political journalists in the country by the Columbia Journalism Review. Smith will be based in Mercury’s Tampa office, where he will help craft top- level communications and strategy across the state.

He led the papers political coverage as the political editor and hosts one of the most widely-read and respected blogs in Florida, The Buzz.

Originally from New York, Adam Smith earned his B.A. from Kenyon College in Ohio.
